We are heartbroken to share the passing of Janice K. Howard on November 11, 2023, at the age of 83. Jan was a talented writer and editor, best known for her work at The Brookfield Journal and her dedicated service to her community. She cherished retirement, spending her time writing, playing the piano, and exploring her family’s genealogy.

Family Ancestry Research is located in Brookfield, CT. My name is Janice Howard and I have spent the past 20+ years researching my own family history. I have available extensive data on the Howard and Lockwood family lineages. I also perform research for others on an “as needed” basis for those that have hit the proverbial “brick wall” in their own search for their heritage. I am also available to research your whole family history from scratch as well.

Why Hire a Genealogist?

Some people hire a genealogist because they don’t have time to do the research themselves or they live far away from the area to be researched. Others might have specific reasons for wanting to know more about their family, such as the need to know the medical histories of their ancestors. Some people only want research into paternal lines, others may want maternal lines as well. Some others may have done some research and hit a brick wall on one particular ancestor. There are many reasons for wanting to know about family history. I can help locate Connecticut and New England roots and provide the focus requested.
